Summer resources for Math Practice

Khan Academy, which is such a great intervention!  I love the way Khan Academy has recently reorganized to create student profiles where they can take a pretest and then work on lessons to fill in any gaps in their learning.  Going through the 5th grade course would be a great place for him to start.

I am also a fan of StudyJams which can be found at studyjams.scholastic.com.  This site features short videos that students can watch and then tests their skills with a quiz.  It is not as robust as Khan Academy, but my students have sure enjoyed it!

My last thought is bedtimemath.org.  This site provides differentiated math problems on a daily basis for parents to work out with their students.  It might be a fun way for you to do math with Avery over the summer and probe his thinking about how he got his answer.
